From Pastor Laura

This past Sunday we considered whether we are sinners or saints by discussing the parable of the Pharisee and tax collector. How did Jesus teach his followers to pray? Do we come to God with confidence or shame?  Will we receive mercy and grace when we ask? If you missed it, you can watch the service here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y78RHrGyM4A

This week the sermon will be inspired by the third parable about prayer in Luke’s gospel. These days we run to our neighbors to borrow a cup of sugar. What happened thousands of years ago when someone ran over to borrow a few loaves of bread? Eventually, we will come to those wonderful words, “how much more.”

May God bless you this week as you discover your identity in Christ. May you know that you are “sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints” (1 Corinthians 1:2 NRSV). And like all saints, may you do God’s great work in this world.
