As we move into the season of warmer weather, road construction, and house guests with the usual rhythms of this time of year, FCUCC will have some different rhythms this summer.
We sent Pastor Lynne and Greg off on their sabbatical adventure seeking rest and renewal. Pastor Lynne and I have worked closely together for several weeks working on a smooth “handoff” of the ministries of our church and care for one another. A few housekeeping matters include UCC Sundays will be 5/29, 6/12, 6/19, 7/10, 7/24, and 8/7. August 21st will be a Praise and Music service with Dean Jardee and our musicians leading us in a musical time of worship. On the remaining Sundays, Pastor Dawn Skerritt of CUMC will be preaching. Additionally, summer newsletters will be monthly per our usual practice.
My office hours are Wednesdays from 9 am-2 pm. Part of that time will be spent filming for the televised worship service and a time for visiting folks at their home. All that to say, please call the church office for an appointment if you would like to meet with me on a specific matter. My email address is email@example.com for those who prefer to contact me by email. My cell phone number is 406-788-9053. May they not happen, nonetheless I am available for pastoral care if you experience an emergency. My work as the Chaplain with Benefis Peace Hospice will continue alongside my FCUCC sabbatical supply ministry.
In last week’s newsletter message Pastor Lynne reminded us that when the pastor is away for a time of renewal, it is an opportunity for the congregation to do the same. As we move forward together this summer may we rest in God’s quiet, still presence amid our circumstances and draw afresh from the hope we find in Christ’s life and resurrection. I look forward to journeying together with you all as we learn more deeply about the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding as we live in these times.
Blessings to you. Sara MacGilvra Branom, Sabbatical Supply Pastor
