Latest on unification process 

– More leadership plans are underway! Your FCUCC-GF Council held a special meeting on the evening of December 2 and edited and approved the “next steps” presented by the FCUCC/CUMC Joint Leadership. At this point, the plans for moving forward include:

• A joint hearing for both congregations following worship on December 8 for the congregations to see a draft of the 2025 unified budget and and ask questions and provide feedback to the Business Affairs Board regarding the final budget.
• Beginning in December, we are planning to initiate unified monthly leadership (Council) meetings for both congregations, bringing the UCC Church Council and Christ UMC Leadership Team together on a regular basis
• Because of the UCC congregational polity, the UCC congregation’s input and authorization is needed before we go much further. To that end, there will be a brief UCC congregational meeting on January 5 for members to give feedback and possible approval to move forward with the formation of an exploration committee to research some of the technical issues of further unification and begin working on addressing them.
• Plans are underway to hold a unified congregational meeting on January 19 to vote on unified nominations and budget. There will be an Annual Meeting Booklet that will contain the reports of both congregations.
