As we say in our Guiding Vision Statement, “God’s call to serve is not new. Our legacy of Christian service strengthens our commitment to minister to the needs of the world both inside and outside the walls of the church.”  We seek to make a difference, responding to God’s love for us by loving and serving others.  After all, Jesus taught us to “love others as he has loved us.”

Opportunities to Serve

We participate in service and offering opportunities year-round.  In the fall we collect school supplies for our area schools.  As temperatures cool we receive blankets and bedding to be distributed by St. Vincent de Paul. Thanksgiving finds us supporting the Salvation Army food basket program. Come Advent, we ring bells for the Salvation Army, purchase gifts for needy children through our angel tree, provide sacks of groceries for St. Vincent, and collect stuffed animals for the children’s homes in our community.

We distribute Food quarterly at FISH (a local, ecumenical food pantry). We take a monthly offering to sustain this food pantry ministry. We CROPWALK annually to stamp out hunger. During fellowship time we serve (and sell) Fair Trade Coffee in support of coffee growers committed to organic, sustainable farming methods.

We collect and distribute diapers each Mother’s Day and periodically provide meals to The Grace Home, a home for homeless veterans.

We have “adopted” West Elementary school to assist in meeting the needs within this school community as communicated to us through the principal.  We are also an active member congregation of the Great Falls Interfaith Association.

Family Promise

Several times a year we partner with Christ United Methodist and serve as an overnight host site for families who are experiencing homelessness as they work to attain sustainable independence. We provide hospitality, meals and overnight lodging for a week for up to 14 people. You can read more about Family Promise here. You can read more about Family Promise of Great falls here.

Charitable Giving

Our charitable giving usually ranks us first within the thirty-plus UCC congregations of our Conference as well as ranks us in the top 5% of the more than 5000 churches of our denomination.  We support all five of our UCC all- church offerings, including One Great Hour of Sharing in support of our global ministries.   Much of the blessings (savings) we receive from our shared facility we are able to pass on to others.  We feel this is good stewardship.

Of course, in addition to what we do directly as a church, our membership is actively involved throughout the community in countless  ways volunteering and serving organizations which make Great Falls a better place in which to live. For where our members are, there is the church.  We praise God for this!.
